The company's beginnings date back to 1979, when Bernard Bucik registered his trade as a sole proprietor under the name SITOTISK, Bernard Bucik s.p. He took his first steps in the garage of his father's house, and later moved the business to a newly built building. Due to increased demand, he gradually expanded his offer to include offset printing and finishing, which required additional space and an extension of the working area. At the same time, the company took on a new name: Tiskarna in založništvo Bernard Bucik s.p.
In 1998, due to the increased workload, the first associate was hired, followed shortly after by a designer in the graphic design studio. Rapid technological developments meant that Bernard had to keep up with the times, so in 2004 he bought his first digitised four-colour offset press, which represented a major technological upgrade. In that year, the company changed its legal form to BUCIK d.o.o.
Committed to finding new solutions, in 2008 we were among the first in Slovenia to introduce production digital printing, expanded into wide-format printing and included services in the field of computer equipment. At that time, our son Simon Bucik joined the company and took over the management of the graphics studio.
Between 2009 and 2019, we modernised our machinery and expanded our team. In 2019, we proudly celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company, which is today under the dedicated leadership of Simon.

We regularly attend trade fairs and training events to keep up to date with trends, new technologies and digital solutions in the printing industry. We work with reliable partners, which enables us to carry out even the largest projects. We believe in the power of relationships, long-term trust and a personal approach.
As a family-run business, we are building on a solid foundation where professionalism goes hand in hand with respect and dedication to work.
Bernard is the President of the Graphic Designers' Section of the OZS. Simon is a licensed Adobe Expert, a long-time member of the BNI Ilirija business group, CEED Slovenia and the Rotary Club of Ljubljana 25. Simon and Martin are also active firefighters and are always on hand to help.
Embraced by nature
We also follow sustainable guidelines in the printing industry - using energy-efficient devices, such as our new eco-advanced printer, as well as recycled and environmentally friendly materials. Our production surrounded by the nature of the White Landscape reminds us every day that respect for the environment is not a choice, but a responsibility.
"... Of course, Bernard Bucik is more than proud of the new acquisition, saying that they have had a Roland printer in their workshop for 14 years and this acquisition will not only speed up the production process but also help to preserve the environment, as the newer model is also much more ecologically advanced than models of an older date." Bernard Bucik for Print Magazin on the purchase of a new UV printer, which is quite rare on the market, but at the same time very efficient and flexible. Bucik in Finance Newspaper
You can read a summary of the interview with our founder from 2007 on the Finance portal HERE, and a summary prepared by us:
Bernard Bucik, a former car racer and founder of the Bucik printing house, successfully combines a racing mentality with the printing business.
Despite the remoteness of the White Landscape from major logistics centres, he can boast a top-of-the-range printing press worth one million euros, which enables him to print complex materials with high added value faster and better quality.
Most of the products are sold in Slovenia, but a small part is exported, including to Croatia. Bucik points out that it is most worthwhile to print products that include knowledge, advice and a complete service - from design to implementation. Their strengths are speed, a personal approach and ISO 9001 certification.
The company remains a family business, with a son, Simon, who has graduated from a printing school, and a wife, although in a different field. They currently work with around 200 clients, including major clients such as Ikea, Pošta Slovenije and Ford Slovenia.
Bucik points to the importance of quality, regular payment and fair business relations. He still trusts the printing industry, but would like to see more clustering between smaller printers. Despite the challenges, they are busy a year in advance and always prioritise their biggest regular clients.
